Serving the Appalachian Basin Since 1970
Established in September of 1970 by Ron and Patricia Laughlin, the firm was built on a foundation of extensive field experience and technical innovation. Ron’s expertise spanned every facet of the industry—from meter technology and gas accounting to drilling and pipeline operations.
Patricia brought twelve years of IBM Corporation experience to the partnership, instrumental in developing the company’s proprietary software and leading the IT and accounting departments. Together, they transformed a shared dream into one of the premiere gas service businesses in the Eastern United States.

Today, R.L. Laughlin has grown into a thriving organization with a spacious headquarters in Charleston, West Virginia, and over 50 dedicated employees across multiple states. In 2009, operational management transitioned to David Canterbury, who continues to lead with the same reputation for quality and service established over half a century ago.
